The Story of Orchid Memories
I never set out to build a business in the funeral industry.
Orchid Memories was born because life changed in an instant — and I realised how precious it is to create something meaningful for others when they need it most.
After leaving secondary school, I completed a two-year training programme in graphic design and print production. That foundation led to a 25-year career with a leading plastic card manufacturing company, where I worked across design, pre press, digital printing, client services and operations — eventually becoming Operations Manager.
Alongside my career, I quietly nurtured Orchid Memories as a small sideline. Even then, I was drawn to work that carried deeper meaning: funeral order of service booklets, memorial cards and keepsakes that help families honour a life with dignity. Then, on 8th November 2019, everything changed. After months of unexplained health issues, I was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with stage 2B cervical cancer. What followed was the most frightening and challenging period of my life — surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, internal brachytherapy, seven blood transfusions and a battle with sepsis that led to kidney failure.

Orchid Memories was Born
The care I received from the teams at Medway Hospital and the Kent Oncology Centre in Maidstone was extraordinary. I will always be grateful — particularly to Dr Jeff Summers and Professor Omer Devaja.
On 13th July 2020 at 10:12am, I received the call that gave me my life back. I was cancer-free. That experience changed me. It clarified what mattered. It gave me the courage to leave a 25-year career and build something rooted in purpose.
Today, as Founder and Creative Director of Orchid Memories, I work one-to-one with families across the UK to create bespoke funeral stationery that feels personal, respectful and beautifully finished. I understand how overwhelming funeral arrangements can be. My role is to make this part of the process calmer, clearer and gently guided — while ensuring the final printed pieces are something you are proud to place in people’s hands.
A quote I live by:
“If I didn’t make you uncomfortable, you never would have moved.” – The Universe.
Orchid Memories is not just my business. It is my heart, my craft and my way of giving something meaningful back. If you are looking for compassionate support, professional design and exceptional print quality, I am here to help.
With warmth,
